Twilight Fauna is an atmospheric metal project devoted to telling the stories of the people and natural environment of Appalachia. All music written, performed, and recorded by multi-instrumentalist Ravenwood. Ravenwood started writing music several years ago. This culminated in the release of the debut album The Silence of a Blackening Abyss in May 2012. Ravenwood has since released 4 full lengths and a number of splits and compilations. The project does not perform live. The music ranges from slower melodic sections to heavily distorted faster riffs. A variety of traditional instruments are used to create the atmosphere found in the Appalachian Mountains.
