Blackened Horde: How did the band get started?

Rick: Shadizar is called the wicked city…you know why? Because there are some really wicked people running around in the dark streets. I had some rough times there, cause some damned urchin stole all my money. What a shame, cause I am a thieve by myself. Well I was lurking around, hungry for revenge and I met this guy. They called him Virgin Penetrator and it was muttered that he once was a very powerful warlock in the ranks of Thulsa Doom. Don’t know if thats true or not, cause he does not want to talk about that very special incident. Somehow we got together, shared some wenches and had some damn good fights.

Blackened Horde:  What kind of music do you play?

Rick: Ever heard a hammer hitting an anvil? It’s the sound of true steel forged by warriors of the endless times! Only Crom can grant you this privilege! Only brave men can forge the steel!

Blackened Horde: How has the fan response been?

Rick: Wherever we go, people cheer or scream frightened. We have a very certain credo: Crush your enemies, see them driven before your and hear the lamentation of the women!

Blackened Horde: Where did the band name come from?

Rick: From the deepest fathoms, from the floods of Acheron…down in the darkest abyss of the netherworld. Where demon’s dwell and demigods rule! By the horns of Dagoth! Hao! dai! ye!

Blackened Horde: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.

Virgin Penetrator: Witchcraft

Rick Thunder: Treasure-snatcher

Doktharr Radiovodnik: Conjuring the gods

Skullcrusher Volkov: Tavern fighting

Sototh Dult: Echoes from the dark

Blackened Horde: Who writes the music? Lyrics?

Rick: Its Crom alone who tells us his will! We are just the ambassadors of the battle!

Blackened Horde: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Rick: Its Crom alone who tells us his will! We are just the ambassadors of the battle! By the hammer!

Blackened Horde: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?

Rick: There is only one strong god and he is called Crom. Altough, if you cross the river of Styx and enter the lands of Stygia, there are some witchmasters who celebrate occult rituals in the name of the god Set. Naked women everywhere, hypnotic dances and black lotus orgies…if ever come by…try it out! It’s a party worth to attend.

Blackened Horde: How many albums/CD’s have you released?

Rick: We are well known from the west to the east. Had some good nights in Tarantia, Shadizar, and in the steppes of Hyrkania! To the north people get grimmer, but also appreciate our work! Hail to the axe-battlers of

Cimmeria.

Blackened Horde: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Rick: We tell the story of Subraion Xan, an old warlock king on the hunt for a mystical treasure called “The coal of blue fire”. This coal was able to destroy and to create. After Subraion Xan found this coal under very horrifying circumstances he summons forces which he could not handle anymore. The people called them “The Storms of the netherworld”. This storms were the heralds of the cataclysm which destroyed the earth.  Shadows rised in Lemuria and the landscapes of the main land got flooded. Everything died, but the coal prevailed. Subraion Xan faded into oblivion but we heard rumors that there is a cult who praises him like a demigod.

Blackened Horde: Do you have any side projects?

Rick: Actually there is not much room for other activities. Raiding, fighting, escaping from dungeons needs all of our time.

Blackened Horde: Who are some of your musical influences?

Rick: Crom!

Blackened Horde: Which current bands?

Rick: Crom!

Blackened Horde: What is the band like when you play live?

Rick: It depends.

Blackened Horde: Have you guys ever played in another country?

Rick: Of course. We go to other regions all the time. Hyrkania, Cimmeria, Aquilonia, Zamora, the Mountain of Might.

Blackened Horde: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?

Rick: Sometimes there are many who cheer, sometimes, especially when there is a war or a plague going on, there are less…and they are more silent.

Blackened Horde: How is the crowd response when you play?

Rick: They scream and rais their hands when we enter a city. We are the ambassadors of war, the steelbringer!

Blackened Horde: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?

Rick: I don’t know. But I can tell you something about the wicked underground scene in Shadizar. Every heard of the cultists of Ouroboros? They dance around fire and sacrifice babies to a snake. There is also a circle called “The servants of the Cryptic Annihilator”, a doomsday-cult. Very strange, very dangerous. If you ever enter Shadizar, try to avoid them.

Blackened Horde: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?

Rick: You mean Barach Islands? I once was in Tortage…hanging around at the port. People are nice, but keep by themselves. They drink a lot of exotic booze. I tried it, and oh boy, I tell you, three days of shitting blood.

Blackened Horde: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?

Rick: We are working all the time of course. Crom allows no break!

Blackened Horde: What does the future hold for the band??

Rick: It depends on the gratitude of Crom. If he is displeased he will crush us within the blink of an eye.
