Blackened Horde: How did the band get started?
Steve: The project started after the release of the first album of Sercati. The reason was because i had a lot of things to explain about the main character we created in the lyrics of Sercati. I just wanted to go far in his story and his mind.
Blackened Horde: What kind of music do you play?
Steve: Dark metal / ambient / atmospheric.
Blackened Horde: How has the fan response been?
Steve: Good, very good. I like to have some echoes from them. Sometimes to have new ideas or to know what they prefer or they dislike.
Blackened Horde: Where did the band name come from?
Steve: From the main character that I created in the lyrics from Sercati. This project is based on him and his vision of his world so I use his name for the band name.
Blackened Horde: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.
Steve: I start alone for the first album and after the project become a B-side of Sercati (my other band). And the main band share their members with the B-side with some guest in additional. But me and Yannick (the drummer) stay the main team of the project.
Blackened Horde: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Steve: Me but Yannick helps me for the drums part and to make some arrangements.
Blackened Horde: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Steve: From the books I wrote about The Nightstaker.
Blackened Horde: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?
Steve: I think each people need to believe in something. And I think the faith is good to grow up or understand ourselves. We just don’t judge too quickly and search to understand the faith of the other and accept it.
Blackened Horde: How many albums/CD’s have you released?
Steve: Three full length under Wolfshade records.
Blackened Horde: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?
Steve: It’s a part important of the story. The Nightstalker is ready to go in hell to find the soul of another character. All the album is about the choice to go hell. Leave the Earth without protection to hold a promise.
Blackened Horde: Do you have any side projects?
Steve: Yannick and me, we play in Sercati.
Blackened Horde: Who are some of your musical influences?
Steve: Blutklinge, Agalloch, Fall of Rauros.
Blackened Horde: What is the band like when you play live?
Steve: We didn’t made gigs. We play some songs in Sercati shows.
Blackened Horde: How is the crowd response when you play?
Steve: They like a lot. They feel the difference in The Nightstalker’s songs and Sercati’s song but they remain in the same universe.
Blackened Horde: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?
Steve: There is a lot of good bands. Some of them write the story of the metal like Inquisition,…
Blackened Horde: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?
Steve: I don’t know if there are really new but Fall of Rauros and Alcest are very good band for me. All this new wave of black metal atmospherically are very good.
Blackened Horde: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?
Steve: We are recording a new full length, we hope to release it this year.
Blackened Horde: What does the future hold for the band??
Steve: Just continue to tell the adventure of our main character and make the music we like.
