Blackened Horde: How did the band get started?
Adramalech: Svarthaueg (Norway, Oslo) was formed in 2005 by Svarthaueg (main guitarist) as a solo project. His vision for this band was to create primitive black metal mixed with occult lyrics and practice. In Late 2009 Svarthaueg quit all his other projects to focus full-time on his solo project Svarthaueg. Adramelech joined forces on Vocals, and a while later, Defest came in on drums.
Blackened Horde: What kind of music do you play?
Adramalech: Raw anti cosmic black metal.
Blackened Horde: How has the fan response been?
Adramalech: Above all expectations, seems like a lot of people have taken an interest in Svarthaueg.
Blackened Horde: Where did the band name come from?
Svarthaueg: I started Svarthaueg as a solo project back in 2005 and just called it Svarthaueg because that is my artist name. It is actually an old family name and a place in Hedmark, (Norway) Translated to English it will mean “Black Hill”.

Blackened Horde: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Adramalech: Svarthaueg writes the music, while both me and him write the hymns.
Blackened Horde: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Adramalech: Through meditation and forbidden rites, we have searched the depths of our self and obtained our weary essence of the flame, which manifests through our sacred hymns.
Blackened Horde: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?
Adramalech: Occultism plays a huge role in Svarthaueg. One of the main reasons why Svarthaueg exist is because we wanted to mix our occult studies and obsessions with raw and primal black metal.
Blackened Horde: How many albums/CD’s have you released?
Adramalech: Our EP “Ritual” was released on Satanath Records and we are currently mixing and mastering our upcoming debut album “Drakonsk Magi”.
Blackened Horde: Do you have any side projects?
Adramalech: Yes I am also vocalist in the Swedish/Norwegian Black metal band Dødsfall. Which is soon coming with our 3th full length album “Djevelens Evangelie”.
Blackened Horde: Who are some of your musical influences?
Svarthaueg: Hard question. I listen to a lot of music, But the Finnish black metal scene have a lot of cool stuff so maybe I got some influences from there?
Blackened Horde: What is the band like when you play live?
Svarthaueg: Everyone focus on their specific parts, to fulfill and complete the ritual.
Blackened Horde: Have you guys ever played in another country?
Adramalech: Yes, we played in both Moscow and St. Petersburg last December.
Blackened Horde: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
Svarthaueg: It really depends on where we play.
Blackened Horde: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?
Svarthaueg: They got some good bands! Some of them are: Possessed, Autopsy, Negative Plane and of course Von.
Blackened Horde: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?
Svarthaueg: Isn’t Us over the sea?
Blackened Horde: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?
Adramalech: Well yes, right now our upcoming debut album “Drakonsk Magi” will soon be released through Ketzer Records. And we are currently working on new material for our second album which will be recorded late 2013/ early 2014!
Blackened Horde: What does the future hold for the band?
Adramalech: Well first priority will be our upcoming full length “Drakonsk Magi” Other than that, we are currently in touch with different agencies and promoters which will set up some European concerts for us.
