In the cold winter of anno satana 1996 under the frozen cloak of Pyrenees born SPELLCRAFT . After a year of tests they record his first demo: ” Funeral in the Night”, harvesting good critics at local level and giving several concerts in its surroundings closest. In 2001 it enters to comprise in the group Midgard, ex-vocalist of the legendary Spanish band of black metal OUIJA, with that the band evolves of remarkable way. In year 2002 promo is recorded first with which SPELLCRAFT takes his first steps in underground at state level. After years in the shade, in the 2005 they turn upside down in the obtaining of colder and aggressive subjects for its new album. In the 2007 recorded and mixed the promo “The Souldevourer” in the studies The Room BCN and in Sweden by the recognized Taylor Maid is mastered (Marduk, Dark Funeral, Dimmu Borgir,…). The obtained recording desire in power and quality, being the satisfied band very with the result. Later was released our CD “ Stirpe Obscura” by Grotesque Prods. In 2008. Currently we are preparing new stuff , because in the next October; we are recording our new album…

Blackened Horde: What kind of music do you play?
Midgard: Just old school Black metal, raw, blasphemous and full of a truly dark atmosphere…this could be a brief definition of our music; black without external alterations but honest and effective.

Blackened Horde: How has the band response been?
Midgard: The response has been good, our band stays always together…that’s the most important for us.

Blackened Horde: Where did the band name come from?
Midgard: We choose this name because we think that it is perfect for our music and attitude…besides this name in my opinion has a lot of strength and magic.

Blackened Horde: Introduce the band members
Midgard: Our line-up is formed by Fulgur (drums), Murcilag (Guitar), Aldromk (Guitar), Scythe (bass) and I; Midgard (Vocals)

Blackened Horde: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Midgard: The music is composed by our guitar Murcilag and the lyrics are written by me, but SPELLCRAFT is a team, all of us have our own task inside the band; we are all necessary in this battle…about my lyrics I want to transmit darkness, hate, war against Christianity and everything established, but I don’t try sending any specific message, everyone must get their own meaning about my thoughts..

Blackened Horde: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Midgard: It depends, a lot of things can catch my attention so I collect ideas of all around me…nothing special, my brain never stops working about it…the world is full of shit; is there any better inspiration than this?

Blackened Horde: What is difference between Ouija and Spellcraft?
Midgard: OUIJA and SPELLCRAFT are different bands with different history too, each one follows its own way; but they are close bands at the same time, all of us have been friends since our childhood.

Blackened Horde: How many albums/Cd’s have you released?
Midgard: Up to now, only two albums; ‘Stirpe Obscura’ by Grotesque Music and ‘Infernal demos revelation’ by the Swedish record label Salute Records.

Blackened Horde: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?
Midgard: The new songs of our next album, I would say that these songs are a natural progression of the band, as usual they are full of hate and aggressiveness
but also they keep our peculiar melodies and dark passages.

Blackened Horde: Any of the band member have any side projects?
Midgard: Yes, some members of the band also play in OUIJA, no more projects hehehe…

Blackened Horde: Who are some of your musical influences?
Midgard: I’m influenced and fascinated by really different metal styles, I only listen to metal music; I’m a great great fan of old Swedish death metal; Entombed, Dismember, Carnage and so on, I grew up with it… But I can listen from old heavy metal as Accept, Judas, Maiden, to current black metal as Primordial, Offermod…but my favourite bands are the old ones: Morbid Angel, Dissection, Emperor, Sacramentum and a lot more.

Blackened Horde: Which current bands?
Midgard: Lately, I have enjoyed the new album of Primordial and the project in solitary of Demonaz…I strongly recommend these albums, in my opinion they are truly awesome, really.

Blackened Horde: What is the band like when you play live?
Midgard: I would define it with a few words; ‘DOBERMANN ANTICHRIST METAL’

Blackened Horde: Do you have any type of stage props or special clothing?
Midgard: No, we don’t use other type of things only leather and face-painting…there is nothing purer than the sweat and the smell of beer in a club; this is true metal; it makes my blood boil and I don’t need any other type of special clothes, I just want to feel that moment and transmit all the strength of our music.

Blackened Horde: Have you guys ever played out of your country?
Midgard: Yes, we have played in France and all around Spain, the next year we will try to play in other countries of Europe…but this isn’t our main goal.

Blackened Horde: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
Midgard: Maybe in a festival in France, it was really great and intense for us to play in front of so many metal people. People generally enjoy our shows a lot, we are a honest band and the people perceive it, we don’t pretend to be the worst ones hehehe we just take out all our hate and raw in our performances.

Blackened Horde: How is the crowd response when you play?
Midgard: It depends, not is the same to play in a small club than in big festival…but we always to try enjoying with the same intensity in both, doesn’t matter the number of people; the important is the attitude.

Blackened Horde: What do you think of the US Black Metal scene?
Midgard: I have to be honest with you, currently I don’t follow the scene of your country…although always I’ve been a great fan of many bands from the States, from the thrash of the Bay Area until to the death metal done in Florida in the 90s.

Blackened Horde: What are some of new favorite black metal bands?
Midgard: Hehehe a never-endingg listDissectionn, Emperor, Sacramentum, Necrophobic, Immortal and so on generally I prefer the old bands than current ones.

Blackened Horde: Any plans on writing any new material?
Midgard: The next October we will record our new Cd, if everything go well In December it will be released…and I’m sure most of our fans will like it, because it is SPELLCRAFT in pure essence.

Blackened Horde: What does the future hold for the band?
Midgard: I don’t know…the life is very complicated…perhaps tomorrow I’ll be dead…I don’t worry about this topic, the future will speak.
