Blackened Horde: How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?
Noah: It all started back in high school when a few friend and I started a death metal band in 1992. We were called “Garbage”. Anyways the band didn’t work out for many stupid reasons. In 93′ with a slightly different line-up we tried again. At this time we were “Skinless” there have been too many line-up changes so it would be confusing if I told the complete Skinless history. I am the only original member left. The current members are the best ever line-up for Skinless.

Blackened Horde: How would you describe your music?
Noah: I guess I would describe it as New York style, brutal death metal.

Blackened Horde: What are your biggest musical influences?
Noah: In the beginning, Obituary was the biggest influence, along with Broken Hope. Now Suffocation is my favorite.

Blackened Horde: Who if, if any do you consider the bands idols?
Noah: I don’t know about idols, I’llllll name some bands that I really like: Suffocation, Scattered Remnants, Internal Bleeding, Sepsism, Dying Fetus, Disciples of Burkowitz, Burning Human, Morbid Entree, Dehumanized, Repudilation, Candria, and many more.

Blackened Horde: What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you want to be doing now?
Noah: Since I was a kid, I just always wanted to be in a band. In 91′ I decided I wanted to play death metal and be the heaviest band in Northern New York. If I wasn’t in a band I’d be sitting around wishing that I had a band.

Blackened Horde: What are some of your favorite bands that are really popular today?
Noah: I named them in number 4.

Blackened Horde: How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them.
Noah: As of March 25, 1997 we have two demos. Our first demo “Demo ’94” has 6 songs and is alright I guess. Our second demo “Swollen Heaps” (95′) has 5 songs and we are very proud of this tape. We finally got the vocalist, heaviness and production that we wanted. On March 30 and 31, 1997 we’ll be recording 3 new songs and re-cording 3 “Demo ’94” songs for a split CD.

Blackened Horde: If you could play with any band who would it be and why?
Noah: Suffocation, they’re great. I’ve already played with many of my other favorites.

Blackened Horde: Who writes the majority of the music?
Noah: I write almost all the music for our first two demos. Our bassist, Adam is now contributing some riffs of his own. Everyone has had input in the lyrics.

Blackened Horde: Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with? Why?
Noah: Probably Disciples of Burkowitz because they are our good friends. When our previous drummer quit, their drummer Bob joined Skinless too. He saved our asses.

Blackened Horde: Where did you get the band name from?
Noah: When I was having trouble finding people to complete a death metal band I formed a silly band called Skinless Butt Portion. Later on, it was shortened to Skinless when I completed the death metal line-up.

Blackened Horde: Describe what the band is like live?
Noah: At first, we didn’t have much stage presence. Our current vocalist Sherwood is good on stage. Adam and I are getting better though. We usually let the music do the talking and people go nuts.

Blackened Horde: If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?
Noah: Poop! Lots of it.

Blackened Horde: Are there any tour plans made, if so tell me about them?
Noah: Not yet, hopefully someday.

Blackened Horde: Where do you think the band will be in 20 years from now?
Noah: In the sewer, eating turds.
