Blackened Horde: How did the band get started?
Todesschrei : In the autumn of the year 2010.
Blackened Horde: What kind of music do you play?
Todesschrei : Mainly we make raw and suicidal/depressive black metal, but not like every other band you can see in this genre.
Blackened Horde: How has the fan response been?
Todesschrei : After the concert, which was on the 7th of April, many people came to us an gave us a very good response. I think we haven’t disappointed our “fans”.
Blackened Horde: Where did the band name come from?
Todesschrei : The name “Schattenfang” consists of two words. The German word “Schatten”, in English: shadow, deals with the shadow of ourselves, the beast in your body and soul. The other word “Fang” means the claw or a paw of a wolf, a werewolf and our name in this combination refers to the myth around the werewolf… a man at the day, a beast in the night.
Blackened Horde: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.
Todesschrei : First of all, this band is a closed bulwark of hate and everyone of us is a very big brick/ part of it, no one is on its own. We stand together in a closed formation. This band includes Todesschrei our drummer, Mologo our guitarist, Selvmort our bassist and vocalist and in the end Todesschrei the main vocalist.
Blackened Horde: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Todesschrei : We all working together…
Blackened Horde: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Todesschrei : Most of the ideas come from Selvmort and Todesschrei. Our source of ideas are the abysses of human being – take a look into the newspaper and you will find enough of them.
Blackened Horde: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?
Todesschrei : I just hate the christian church …and the others too.
Blackened Horde: How many albums/CD’s have you released?
Todesschrei : Our first self recorded Demo tape we distribute to our close friends. The EP is coming soon and the first LP comes in the next year.
Blackened Horde: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?
Todesschrei : I can’t talk about some songs of Schattenfang, because when you hear our songs you must think about it in your own way, but I just can talk about the themes of some songs… Kalt – this song is about a young girl, a rapist and the lost grace of god (but this isn’t everything about this song)…vom Grabentod – this song is about the situation in Stalingrad, … lost men are fighting for nothing …till death Mentale Disharmonie stands for itself…hear & feel it! And at last Des Herbstes Schatten is an very personal song from Invidia for his ex….
Blackened Horde: Do you have any side projects?
Todesschrei : No …I thing it’s better to focus all my power in this band.
Blackened Horde: Who are some of your musical influences?
Todesschrei : There are so many of then …my main influences are black and the old death metal.
Blackened Horde: Which current bands?
Todesschrei : Behexen, Nargaroth, Gorgoroth, Endstille, Nocturnal Depression, Thyrgrim and many more.
Blackened Horde: What is the band like when you play live?
Todesschrei : Just watch our video from our first concert. Enjoy and think about it.
Blackened Horde: Have you guys ever played in another country?
Todesschrei : Not yet, sadly.
Blackened Horde: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
Todesschrei : We played just one concert but I think in the future the crowd is getting bigger.
Blackened Horde: How is the crowd response when you play?
Todesschrei : Quiet good…
Blackened Horde: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?
Todesschrei : I just don’t think about it and I don’t care about the “scene”, because there are many idiots in the “scene” …I could say more but I think most of the people can’t understand my opinion.
Blackened Horde: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?
Todesschrei : I haven’t seen or hear enough to have an opinion about that.
Blackened Horde: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?
Todesschrei : To my mind the band “Deserted Fear” is quiet a good band.
Blackened Horde: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?
Todesschrei : In this moment we make some new stuff. The Plans for the upcoming album is to spend more time to offer a full-length album. We planned some guests, for example Winterkind, Winterwolf from Asgar/Niemalsland or Desiderius and Helvete from Dark Armageddon.

Todesschrei : I don’t know… but I’m in good spirits.
