Blackened Horde: How did the band get started?

AlexS: Sahrana started as my and Jovan’s idea to create raw black metal band, which will attack christianity directly through our music and our lyrics. Since 2005 till now, through Sahrana have passed many musicians, but in the end there is only Jovan and me.

Blackened Horde: What kind of music do you play?

AlexS: Since our start till now, we have always played Raw Satanic Black Metal. We are the only raw black metal band in our shitty town of Banja Luka. In this fuckin’ putride town, everyone feels shame to play black metal with us. They are looking for some tehnical shits, big contracts and „I want to be a rock star“ craps. Bunch of brainless idiots, without attitude.

Blackened Horde: How has the band response been?

AlexS: We received encomiums and greetings from all over the world (Portugal, Montenegro, France, Thailand… etc.). There are people in the world, who really like our music and the way we express our state toward christianity, islam, and other things that profane our planet.

Blackened Horde: Where did the band name come from?

AlexS: In our native serbian language, Sahrana means Funeral. We don’t want to look for some words from other languages. Because our language has many abstract words. So we decided to use word „SAHRANA“. Sahrana represent funeral of idiotic humanism, false religions, and funeral of jesus chirst, himself. We support anti-christian propaganda in every way.

Blackened Horde: Introduce the band members

AlexS: Sahrana contains only two members. Jovan do the drums and guitars, in fact all music. And I do all vocal works and parts. And we think to keep Sahrana like two-member band. For four years, Jovan and me are making music together. We share same or similar ideas and sense for music. If happens the moment, when we think that we can’t work togehter anymore, we will stop to play with Sahrana.

Blackened Horde: Who writes the music? Lyrics?

AlexS: All music is made and driven by Jovan’s ideas. And all lyrics are written by my hands…

Blackened Horde: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

AlexS: From things that surrend us. That is christianity in almost all our lyrics. We only try to spread wisdom of satanism and true face of christian fate through our lyrics. We don’t drink blood and sacrafice animals to some piece of wood. We think with our heads. We use our strongest weapon against christianity, those are our MINDS and our WILL.

Blackened Horde: How many albums/cd’s have you released?

AlexS: We have one full-lenght album from 2008 anno Satanas, called „Vjecna Vladavina Satane“ (Eternal Reign of Satan). In 2009 we recorded our first EP called „Raj U Plamenu“ (Heaven In Flame); and also we recorded two rehearsal demo materials… „Satan’s Seed (Rehearsal 1)“ and „Satanic Necro Goat Perverse Cult (Rehearsal 2)“. We also got one unreleased tape recorded in 2006.

Blackened Horde: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

AlexS: Latest official material of Sahrana was EP „Raj U Plamenu“. It contains four songs of raw black metal. Material was recorded in our improvised home studio. The last song on EP is dedicated to father of serbian black metal, Mikica Maric, founder of band Bethor…

Blackened Horde: Who are some of your musical influences?

AlexS: First of all, we try to make some original stuff and put them into our songs. But like all other bands, we also got idols. Those are bands like: Von, Maniac Butcher, Moonblood, Beherit, Ildjarn, Impaled Nazarene, (old) Kreator, Profanatica, Bethor, Angelgoat… etc.

Blackened Horde: Which current bands?

AlexS: Currently we are active in few other bands. Beside Sahrana, I write lyrics and sing in band Satan from Banja Luka. Jovan has several project-bands active in this moment; bands: Prorok, 1389, Goat Evil, Nan Elmoth, Satan. But in these days we are focused on Sahrana.

Blackened Horde: What is the band like when you play live?

AlexS: We never had a live gig.

Blackened Horde: Have you guys ever played in another country?

AlexS: Like I said in previous question, we have never played a live on stage. But we have some plans for live massacre, next year.

Blackened Horde: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?

AlexS: Till next year, I will not know the answer on this questions…

Blackened Horde: How is the crowd response when you play?

AlexS: It is yet to be seen. But in our country… in fact in our region, there are not many people who like raw black metal.

Blackened Horde: What is your opinion on death metal bands and black metal band? What is your opinion on the conflict of Black Metal Vs Death Metal?

AlexS: Personally, 90% of my time I listen black metal. But I also like to listen an old death metal bands like: Possessed, first two albums of Hypocrisy, Morbid Angel… those old bands who were inspired by satanism. I don’t see conflict between BM and DM. In these days we have increased number of DM bands with enviable technical abilities. But there is also BM bands who create technicaly music. And still we have BM and DM bands who worship old-school raw spirit, and create music inspired with raw and satanic roots of BM and DM. I don’t have nothing against DM, only I don’t like to listen bands like: Nile, Grotesque(Australia), with too many technical shits.

Blackened Horde: What do you think of the U.S. scene?

AlexS: Fucking great scene with some cult bands. We love bands like: Von, Profanatica, Havohej, Judas Iscariot… and bands who create or have created true black metal… U.S.B.M. scene is pretty good. You still have some of dinosaurs of black metal alive, like one of my favourite, legendary Krieg.

Blackened Horde: What do you think of the overseas scenes?

AlexS: Ovcerseas scene is very good, in fact it is great. If we just see countries like: Peru, Thailand, Singapore. We can see that they have great black metal bands and very strong underground black metal scene respected in every corner of this world… And there is also countries like: Mexico and Guatemala, also got good underground black metal scene. Black metal scene is filled with commercial shits, but still there are good true black metal bands, labels and ’zines who support true spirit of black art.

Blackened Horde: Any plans on writing any new material?

AlexS: In few days or month, we will finish all work with our new full-lenght album. It will have 8 songs of pure black metal manifesto directly into the eyes of christian god. Filled with raw production, thundering guitars and drums; and bestial roarings. The title of album probably will be „Kullt Ov Sath-Tanas“. We have some further plans to record some singles and EPs, but all in the proper time. Father Satan is with us, and with His help we’ll keep crossing corridors of false religions.

Blackened Horde: What does the future hold for the band??

AlexS: Next year it will be 5 years of Sahrana’s existing. We will maybe have one gig; probably to record live album. In our home town, Banja Luka. We also have plans for some memorial album and many other things. We have a lot of plans for Sahrana, slow but safe, we want to realize our ideas and plans.

Thank you for your interest in Sahrana… Defende and praise Satans kingdom. Honestus Satanas!!! Vobiscum Satanas!!!
