Blackened Horde: How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?

Brian: The sickness began in the fall of 1994 after drummer Brian Wishin and guitarist Matt Ferrara discovered that there was a huge underground death metal scene. Fed up with the trends and the weak music accepted by their peers. The two went on to support the only true music around, death metal. Members came and went, but nothing clicked until Brian and Matt met Joe Reilly who played bass.

Blackened Horde: How would you describe your music?

Brian: Complete insanity. The most catchy movable brutal shit to hit the underground. If your into sickness you will love our shit.

Blackened Horde: What are your biggest musical influences?

Brian: My biggest musical influences have to be Bill Tolley, “Marvin Smithy Smith”, Ken from Candira, Pete from Cannibal Corpse, Buddy Rich just to name a few.

Blackened Horde: Who if, if any do you consider the bands idols?

Brian: Repudilation digs Internal Bleeding, Old Pyrexia, Candira, Deeds of Flesh, Malomar, Deaden, Lividity, Torture Crypt, Dehumanized, Immortal Suffering and shitload more.

Blackened Horde: What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you want to be doing now?

Brian: I just love making music. Whether it is death metal, jazz, disco, I love it all. However, there is only one style I will dedicate my life to that’s death metal. Nothing glues me more satisfaction then playing in a brutal death metal band. I love doing mail, corresponding with fans and all the other shit we do. If I wasn’t doing this I would probably be sitting around with my finger up my ass.

Blackened Horde: What are some of your favorite bands that are really popular today?

Brian: I don’t have any favorite bands which are popular today. Music today is really to fuckin’ trendy. It is no longer about music, it’s about a look. I want no part of that shit.

Blackened Horde: How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them.

Brian: Right now we have our “Purging of Impurity” demo and we have a 7” coming out on Torture Records! We signed with Torture Records and this is the first product. There putting out of ours. That 7” is also going to feature me singing on it. Our older singer rich quit the band right before we recorded being that I sang 75% of “Purging On Impurity” we thought it would be easier if I just sang again. It came out sick. As of right now we have a new singer his name is Mike Lotito fucking killer. 100 times better than Rich for more info on Mike write me at the address below.

Blackened Horde: If you could play with any band who would it be and why?

Brian: Honestly. I would not play with any other band. We are really close. I couldn’t see myself playing in a different situation. I consider those guys my family. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Blackened Horde: Who writes the majority of the music?

Brian: The majority of the music is written by Matt and myself. I write all the lyrics and most of the lyrical and musical arranging. Matt writes the riffs and organizes the foundation of the songs. Then the rest of the band throws there shit in.

Blackened Horde: Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with? Why?

Brian: We don’t have one favorite band. We’ve played with Internal Bleeding, Candira, Pyrexia, Darkthrone, Deathkids, Broken Hope, Six Feet Under and even out of state shows with Deaden, Impetus, Fleshgrind. Every show was sick. The Chicago show far was the sickest. We met so many people. Got to hang out with Matt from Lividity and many others! Definitely a memorable experience.

Blackened Horde: Where did you get the band name from?

Brian: Sorry I cant answer that. We like the fact that no one knows what “Repudilation” means. Always keeps people thinking. It would be to easy if we just told you. If you figure it out write me.

Blackened Horde: Describe what the band is like live?

Brian: Our very first shows with Rich were insane, sick, pits, mass destruction. Our presence was incredible. All of sudden rich lost interest and his presence went to shit. Now he is out of the band, our presence is going to be sicker than ever. Mike is a crazy mother fucker. I talk no shit you have to check it out when we come around your area.

Blackened Horde: If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?

Brian: I have no idea. I never really gave it much thought. As long as it is cool, I would like it. I wouldn’t want any gay shit in there, kinda like MTV. MTV sucks, it has to be the worse form of expression. If we made a video I’d want people to vomit when they see it. Maybe it can have us killing Nine Inch Nails or something. No offense to you Nine Inch Nails fans, but I think they suck.

Blackened Horde: Are there any tour plans made, if so tell me about them?

Brian: Yeah this spring/summer we are hooking up a bunch of shows going straight out west. We will probably hit Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, maybe a few others. Drop me a line if you are interested in finding out more. It should be cool, I’m looking forward to it.

Blackened Horde: Where do you think the band will be in 20 years from now?

Brian: Hopefully we will still be playing. I want to be an old mother fucker still playing death metal. But honestly I don’t know. I try not to look that far down the road. I live for now ad we will do as much shit in the present to hope enhances our future.
