Blackened Horde: How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?

Tom: Oppressor formed in May of 91′ by Tim King and Adam Zadel and completed on month later with Tom Schofield and Jim Stopper.

Blackened Horde: How would you describe your music?

Tom: Fast, heavy, technical death.

Blackened Horde: What are your biggest musical influences?

Tom: Morbid Angel, Death, Gorguts, Suffocation, etc… Also shit like Cynic, some new age jazz stuff.

Blackened Horde: Who if, if any do you consider the bands idols?

Tom: See above and Black Sabbath, Primus, Kiss etc, etc… A lot of fuckin’ people.

Blackened Horde: What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you want to be doing now?

Tom: The extremeness of the style. Going to college or making some money.

Blackened Horde: What are some of your favorite bands that are really popular today?

Tom: Korn. A ton of fuckin’ shit. Broken Hope and Internal Bleeding.

Blackened Horde: How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them.

Tom: Two demos. One LP and one live CD.

Blackened Horde: If you could play with any band who would it be and why?

Tom: I enjoy writing my own music, but jamming with classic like Kiss would be cool.

Blackened Horde: Who writes the majority of the music?

Tom: Jim Stopper. Adam Zadel and I help and Tim writes all lyrics.

Blackened Horde: Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with? Why?

Tom: Gorguts, Malevolent Creation and Morbid Angel. There our idols. Broken Hope and Internal Bleeding are fun to play with also.

Blackened Horde: Where did you get the band name from?

Tom: I know not? Oppressor de liber.

Blackened Horde: Describe what the band is like live?

Tom: Intense, heavy, tight just like we sound on tape.

Blackened Horde: If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?

Tom: I don’t know we’ve never had the opportunity. Probably live stuff and antics on tours.

Blackened Horde: Are there any tour plans made, if so tell me about them?

Tom: Anywhere anytime! Hopefully for the new LP we’ll tour the US and Europe.

Blackened Horde: Where do you think the band will be in 20 years from now?

Tom: Cant say. Hopefully still going strong, but most likely our stuff will be collectors items to a few demented souls.
