Summon: How did the band get started?

Kevin: I had some free time after my last band, Hellcannon, was finished recording our last EP. I’ve always been a huge fan of Progressive and Shred music, and wanted to have a band in those styles but was always busy with the band or work and unable to find the right people. I knew Dan, (the other guitarist) was a good guitar player, so I invited him to jam on some prog/stoner rock stuff. We had really similar tastes in music and he was an outstanding guitarist, so I was immediately excited to get another band going. From there I just started losing interest in my last band, for a lot of different reasons. I’ve known Tom from his last band, and me and Austin have been jamming together since high school. After Tom and Austin joined everything started moving smoothly and writing music came really naturally.

Summon: What kind of music do you play?

Kevin: It’s definitely progressive. You’ll hear death metal influences, stoner rock influences, even jazz or classical; but it’s definitely progressive.

Summon: How has the fan response been?

Kevin: We’re still in the process of releasing our first EP, “Circadian” and getting a tour setup, but everyone who’s heard it really enjoys it and we hope that continues on the road.

Summon: Where did the band name come from?

Kevin: I think I had that name in my head for a while, it just sounded cool and it’s what a band does.

Summon: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.

Kevin: Tom is the vocalist, and plays bass. Dan plays guitar. I (Kevin) also play the guitar. Austin plays the drums.

Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?

Kevin: I write a good portion of the music, Dan also writes a good portion of the music. This EP is mainly just us two writing but we expect that to change on the next release. Me, Tom, and Dan all write lyrics.

Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Kevin: We have a lot of different sources for inspiration. There’s definitely an overall theme lyrically, but we’ll let listeners sort that out.

Summon: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?

Kevin: I’d say check out our lyrics, Tom’s and Dan’s are more metaphorical and abstract, but mine are pretty straightforward.

Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?

Kevin: The “Circadian” EP will be our first.

Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Kevin: There’s two instrumentals, and the others all have different styles. We like mixing genres and playing solos and shred harmonies- it’s a lot of fun.

Summon: Do you have any side projects?

Kevin: I record leads and guest solos for friends’ bands on occasion but no full projects.

Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Kevin: King Crimson, Cynic, Yes, Rush, Gordian Knot, Death, Allman Brothers, Electric Light Orchestra, Elton John.

Summon: Which current bands?

Kevin: Warbringer, Revocation, Obscura, Watain, Mastodon.

Summon: What is the band like when you play live?

Kevin: You’ll have to see us.

Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?

Kevin: Not yet, but we definitely plan on it.

Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?

Kevin: I think it’s killer, I’ve seen a lot of supportive people and great new bands over the last few years.

Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?

Kevin: Honestly not too sure, but it’s probably better than it is here.

Summon: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?

Kevin: Watain, and Obscura are definitely at the top of my list.

Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?

Kevin: Immediately, we’ve had this material ready to go for awhile, and we’re gonna be writing over the next few months. Expect more everything.

Summon: What does the future hold for the band??

Kevin: Lots of shows, solos, shouting, and a full length.
