Summon: How did the band get started?

Henrik: About a year and a half after I officially disbanded Stormrider (Sweden) I got a strong feeling it was time to return to music once more. This time it was all about spreading “The Word”, so ideas and concepts were created before there was any band at all. Another 3-4 months after that I asked two of my old comrades from Stormrider to join me, both accepted and some real song-writing kicked into gear in January 2013.

Summon: What kind of music do you play?

Henrik: I would say we play some form of Black Metal. We are certain a shitload of so called experts and whatnot will disagree with us and label it this or that. Not that we care.

Summon: How has the fan response been?

Henrik: The response so far has been surprisingly positive.

Summon: Where did the band name come from?

Henrik: I cannot say for sure, it was something that “came into existence” during the months when the concept and foundation were laid.

Summon: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.

Henrik: First we have Henrik Larsén on guitar, then Mikael Strandberg on Drums and myself doing the Vocal-parts.

Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?

Henrik: We all contribute to the music and arrangements, but Larsén and Strandberg do the lion-part of it while I do all the lyrics.

Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Henrik: I like to explore the darker and/or extreme parts of the mind, so I reckon it is from those places I draw most inspiration from. Not to forget the essence of chaos.

Summon: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?

Henrik: There are interesting ideas and perspectives in both, but that can also be said about a lot of philosophical subjects/aspects.

Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?

Henrik: So far we have released two promos; “Verbum Vexillifer” in 2013 and “The Eye Of Terror” in 2014.

Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Henrik: I prefer not to go in-depth regarding individual songs or what they represent. We wish to leave that interpretation to each listener and from there let “The Word” mature in each and everyone.

Summon: Do you have any side projects?

Henrik: At this point none of us have any side-projects.

Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Henrik: Our influences are in constant flux and change.

Summon: What is the band like when you play live? Have you guys ever played in another country? How big of crowd shows up at shows usually? How is the crowd response when you play?

Henrik: Up to this point we have chosen not to play live. But we are looking at the possibility to spread “The Word” live as well. Since we are all ex Stormrider (Sweden) the band will be genuine in its’ delivery. We are word bearers.

Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?

Henrik: The US scene has always been strong with both good BM and DM bands. Currently I enjoy a period of Nachtmystium, Agalloch and Acheron. But in all fairness I must say that the US Death Metal scence is, and always was, much stronger.

Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?

Henrik: In Europe the scene has numerous of good bands, even though I currently favor the French, Norwegian and Swedish scene.

Summon: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?

Henrik: To be frank I am lousy at finding “new” bands and I’m not much for namedropping, but I will make an exception for Death Tyrant, their album ” Opus De Tyranis” is really worth checking out.

Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?

Henrik: Right now we are enjoying a “vacation”, but coming August we will start writing new material again. There are ideas for three new songs already, titles and themes are already done.

Summon: What does the future hold for the band??

Henrik: During our “vacation” we wait for any and all offers to come in, then we will go through them. We have been in the “label-business” before and we aren’t desperate, so unless it is to our liking we will continue to work on our new material. Once we are satisfied with it and the essence is there we’ll see what happens.

Lastly I would like to thank you for the interview and support. Spread “The Word”!
