The first name of the band was FUNESTUM, and it was started in Kyiv in 2008, being first to introduce Atmospheric Funeral Doom in Ukraine. Under this name band has taken part in a number of shows sharing stage with Cemetery of Scream, Inferno and Apostate, and releasing an EP «The Gates of Eon» (Врата Вечности) which is available online.
In 2009 band has changed its name to NARROW HOUSE continuing its Funeral Doom legacy and taking part in multiple Ukrainian doom fests, playing with Skepticism, Mournful Gust, Stoned Jesus and Mozergush. All live performances by NARROW HOUSE were supported with psychological visuals and ambient music which merges all songs in one solid and depressive structure.
After a short hiatus NARROW HOUSE started to record their debut album “A Key to Panngrieb” which has been released on August 2012 by one of the biggest doom metal labels in the world — Solitude Productions (Russia). This album was well received by the audience, making it an extremely promising start for NARROW HOUSE.
In 2013 the band has entered the studio again, taking a new musical direction, combining various doom metal sub-genres into completely unpredictable mix called “apocalyptic doom metal”. To record its new album “Thanathonaut”, NARROW HOUSE is collaborating with famous Morton Studio, led by the respected Ukrainian sound-producer Max Morton.
