Myotis Treble Review

Myotis Treble

Revolution of Darkness”

2017

Myotis Treble is a one man, Turkish black metal project, formed by Nightwing in 2012 after the demise of his former band, Intoxicating Suicide. in years to follow, MT released a self titled EP & the “Blood & Thunder” demo, which were later picked up & sent forth to the legions by Mergen Productions in 2016.

Now comes the third release, Revolution of Darkness, with 4 satanic psalms of occultism & brutality. MT has a Burzum meets Nargaroth cvlt sound, so the production is a bit lackluster. All in all though, I enjoyed these 4 songs immensely. Each track is filled with classic riffage & screams of torment. You can’t deny the influential elements of bands like Nargaroth, Darkthrone, Burzum, Bathory or Satanic Warmaster going on here.

Of all the tracks though, my favorite would have to be the zombie, patient zero hymn of “Rotten to the Gore”. Nightwing did an enjoyable job with this one. I can’t get enough of classic riffs & arrangements.

If this was a full band & the album had better production, I would bump it up a few levels, but the production weighs on my soul. The simplicity & classic influences makes this a lively piece of darkness & disdain, but don’t turn this up to loud or the bad cassette tape sound will drives you crazy, or destroy your speakers.
