Biography:

“Genuine old-school unholy Death Metal from France, established in 1987 and still feasting on the blood of the lambs ever since!”

~~~~~~~~~~
Beginning with an eerie voice in an ambient setting it gives out a certain amount of angst and fear that death metal bands portray so well. ‘Pathetic Divinity’ is a hard hitting slab of death metal extremity as it lavishes the ears with a brutal array of malice. The vocals are gnarly and unrelenting in their delivery through a fast and heavy onslaught. ‘A Representation of Darkness’ simply rampages and creates a trail of dust in its wake! Forthright and confident the track is compelling and offers deep magnetic riffs. ‘My Name Is Legion’
anyone into the Supernatural will know that these words are usually uttered by demons and the music to this track can quite easily be classed as demonic as it battles an addictive reign of terror. ‘Exhort the Heretic’ is another battle of wits as the torrent of metal is steeped in masterful rhythmic poetry and power fuelled with captivating momentum. ‘Left to Rot’ is just as gruesome as the title, although it leaves nothing to chance! Contrasting super charged riffs and plentiful kick beats it’s an emotional offering. ‘Eucharistic Adoration’ continues its powerful onslaught as the vocal scourge scrapes the ears and leaves them to bleed with the sheer velocity the music is pumping out through the speaker units.
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
“It is a thunderous album that doesn’t mind stomping all over your brain in an attempt to make you sit up and obey the masters! This is one such time when obeying is the only thing you can do!”
—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————-
‘Christianist’ holds a darker riff that pulverises through a battering of malevolent beats there is a fierce element of scathing and raw that is sewn into its fabric and used to smother its victims! The tenacity of this track knows no bounds! ‘How Deep Is Your Hate?’ slows things down to a more even pace but lulls you into a false sense of security as it suddenly explodes into a rampant flow of malignancy that twists and turns like a knife in the back! ‘Liturgiæ’ The vocal goes to the depths of depravity as it spews out hatred towards its enemies. The meaty slices of rhythm portray a dark malevolence that is amplified through a deep cackling as it fades.
Summary:
Mercyless do exactly what it says on the label, there’s no escaping its broad death defying rhythms and heartfelt vocal entourage for sure! The band have had plenty of time in which to find their niche and nestle into it with ease. It can host a certain predaciousness as well as a sultry lair in which to capture its audience but the ones already into death metal are already there!
It is a thunderous album that doesn’t mind stomping all over your brain in an attempt to make you sit up and obey the masters! This is one such time when obeying is the only thing you can do!
