Summon: How has the band response been?
Nimrod: Very good, we definitely have a hoof in the door of the underground. And that’s the only thing that matters. The Tyrrellicus USA Distro will release a limited run of Krew demotapes in the near future, only for the US fans. The worldwide black metal support is fantastic.
Summon: Where did the band name come from?
Nimrod: Krew [pronounced “kræf”] means blood in the polish language. I was born in poland and don’t found a german name that was powerful enough to name the band, that’s why I chose a polish one.
Summon: Introduce the band members
Nimrod: There’s me, Nimrod, on the guitar. I founded the band in 2008 as a solo project. On the other guitar is Mort, Taranis on Bass, Wulfing on drums and Nihilaeus does the vocals.
Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Nimrod: Most of the material including all instruments and the lyrics was written by me. Other stuff was written by Mort.
Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Nimrod: Satan.
Summon: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?
Nimrod: Great hobbies.
Summon: Do you practice any satanic rituals?
Nimrod: We kill our vocalist every time we’re on stage. We cut off his wiener and serve it to the whores in the first row. We call it the „blasphemous blutwurst“.
Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?
Nimorod: Satyricon, Darkthrone, Emperor. The usual suspects.
Summon: Which current bands?
Nimrod: Most of the current bands suck. Some exceptions that are worth to mention are bands like Helrunar or 1349.
Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?
Nimrod: Not till now, but we would like to do it if there would be a possibility.
Summon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
Nimrod: That depends on the beer prices at the venue.
Summon: How is the crowd response when you play?
Nimrod: Reverential
Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal scene?
Nimrod: I enjoy bands like Wolves In The Throne Room or VON, but I must confess that I´m more into scandinavian bands.
Summon: What do you think of the Norweigian and Swedish scenes?
Nimrod: They fill my cd shelf.
Summon: What are some of new favorite black metal bands?
Nimrod: I like the new Helrunar album, fucking great stuff.
Summon: Any plans on writing any new material?
Nimrod: Sure, we’re working constantly on new stuff. We plan to record a full length album in the winter 2011.
Summon: Have you ever heard any band(s) that seemed like they were influenced by you guys? And do you like those bands?
Nimrod: No, I haven’t. But if I had, I think I would say that they sound fucking amazing.
