Blackened Horde: How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?

Introspectre: Introspective got started only 2 ½ years ago, but we’ve been through s name change ass well as line-up changes. The core of the band has always been 3, Steve (drums), my brother Rick (guitar) and Me (Vocals& guitar). I’ve been jamming with Steve since high school and playing with2 my brother since he got me interested in playing guitar. So as the 3 of us we’ve been together for 7 to 8 years now. Our new addition is Adam (bass) which he’s great to have aboard, he’s one of the better musicians I’ve played with.

Blackened Horde: How would you describe your music?

Introspectre: I don’t like to be labeled or categorized. If I have to, we’re definitely Metal, always improving and evolving so I guess you could say Progressive Metal.

Blackened Horde: What are your biggest musical influences?

Introspectre: Now that I’m 26 I appreciate more style’s then ever before. In the beginning there was old Kiss and Black Sabbath that blew me away. Now I would say Sepultura, still Sabbath, Sanctuary and Pantera plus local and underground stuff.

Blackened Horde: Who if, if any do you consider the bands idols?

Introspectre: I don’t have any band idols anymore, I don’t look at it with the view of perception but I do admire and respect a lot of musicians. Ones I have already named and anyone who feels what their doing.

Blackened Horde: What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you want to be doing now?

Introspectre: The question is who wouldn’t want to be in a band? You have the chance to express your creativity, go on tour, the women, travel and record, the good things in life. If I wasn’t in the band I would probably be an alcoholic, drugged out freak with a loser job. Or maybe a recording engineer.

Blackened Horde: What are some of your favorite bands that are really popular today?

Introspectre: My favorite bands at this moment are Sepultura, Nevermore, White Zombie and Pantera (it’s always changing) on the underground side of it there’s Internal Bleeding, Morpheus Sister and Medusa Oblongada.

Blackened Horde: How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them.

Introspectre: Introspectre’s first release was buried inside a full length CD which was done this year yet. It came out just because we had so much material built up and wanted to put out a CD. I feel our style has since evolved so we went and did a new 3 song demo called “Misplaced” which should be out soon in the underground.

Blackened Horde: If you could play with any band who would it be and why?

Introspectre: I would say Black Sabbath it would be so cool to play with Tony Tommi. Even better yet if Ozzy was still in the band, that would be complete.

Blackened Horde: Who writes the majority of the music?

Introspectre: I write the majority of the music but everyone adds there parts and style to it, I just out with the basic rhythms. Lyrically it would be Steve and me.

Blackened Horde: Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with? Why?

Introspectre: So far we’ve just played with some cool local bands but the best was playing the Metalfest 94′ with Slayer headlining we played with a lot of bands that day.

Blackened Horde: Where did you get the band name from?

Introspectre: The band name took awhile to think up, It consists of two words Introspect which means to look inside one’s thoughts and feelings and Spectre which means ghost. So as a whole you got to look inside one’s spirit and seems to fit us perfectly.

Blackened Horde: Describe what the band is like live?

Introspectre: This is a hard question, I never seen us live. I just know what I’m going nuts, if I got the room I’m all over the place, it’s just that feeling that comes over you.

Blackened Horde: If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?

Introspectre: What I think would be cool for a video is a song off our new demo called “Misplaced”. The concept is two brothers growing up under a oppressive father. Who installs his racist attitude on his sons, one brother grows away from this knowing he can be better, while the other subdues to his fathers way, and is affected by the medias propaganda of a damaged society. Years pass the one brother returns to help the other but is met with anger and resentment. The confusion results in murder. “Blood on my Brothers Hands, refusing to understand. Mistraced the outline’s around the mold don’t fit the race. Misplaced your own ideals for a better place.”

Blackened Horde: Are there any tour plans made, if so tell me about them?

Introspectre: No touring plans as of yet.

Blackened Horde: Where do you think the band will be in 20 years from now?

Introspectre: 20 years from now I could see the band still making honest music and not selling out our integrity and evolving to new levels of creativity.
