The Desolate”

Inferion - The Desolate

Inferion’s new full length “The Desolate” which was released early this year, brought a smile to my face!  It is filled with nasty vocals, blistering drums, and evil guitars and bass!  I reviewed an older E.P. from them which is night and day compared to this.  It’s a bit old school and new black metal wrapped up with a little melody thrown in the mix……If they keep this up, I’ll keep listening!!

Inferion

The Desolate”

Inferion - The Desolate

Inferion’s release, The Desolate, is what I believe is the band’s true path. Their musicianship is truly represented . Great black metal riffs and overall production from both members. Heard some other genres poking through in some of the songs but overall this band kept it black and was much appreciated by me. I give this release a 7.5/10 and hope the band continues on its present course.

Inferion

Aborted by the Sun”

Inferion - Aborted by the Sun

Inferion’s “Aborted by the Sun” E.P. was released this year, though I found out it was originally recorded back in 2003 under a different band name.  The files were damaged and so forth, but by chance a back-up disk was found.  The songs underwent some rerecording, remixing and remastering.  I think it is safe to say that this CD is an example of where Inferion came from.  The songs don’t feel completely solid.  In some cases the music is a little thin, while other times there is a bit much going on.  I am aware of what Inferion is capable of these days, and even though this didn’t quite hit me right, stick around and check out them out these days!

1. Kill the Angel

2. Aborted by the Sun

3. Burn Away the Memory

4. Imagine Me Geometry

Inferion - Aborted by the Sun

The EP  Aborted by the Sun released by Inferion didn’t really show me much. It seemed generic in some of the music phrasings and not as original as I thought it might be. I believe when this EP was done, the band was trying to figure ouy what direction they wanted to go and in my opinion they did finally find their path. This EP was the beginning of a better band and as everyone knows, sometimes bands go through many ideas until they become who they truly are.
