Summon: How did the band get started?
LM: I WILL KILL YOU project was born in Sicily in 2010 by an idea of mine. I was in the drawer for a long time, desiring to create a metal project, raw and furious. In a few months I recorded 6 preproduction tracks, completed the last arrangements and, once I found good musicians, we recorded the EP “Plastination” which saw the light in July 2011. The lineup was composed as follows: Klaudia (Vocals), Peppe(Drum), Andrea (Bass) and me. A few months ago I completely redesigned this lineup for abandonment and forced removals. We are now completing the writing process of the new album, that will be out on 2013, maintaining the same sound, but a bit more aggressive and with some new sound experiments.
Summon: What kind of music do you play?
LM: We defined it simply “Extreme Obscure Metal”.
Summon: How has the fan response been?
LM: So cool! The people like very much our music, anhttp://www.reverbnation.com/iwillkillyou666
http://www.myspace.com/iwillkillyouNowd we’re always supported by our fans, they’re great.
Summon: Where did the band name come from?
LM: It comes from the only tangible reality… The death. In fact I imagined that death whisper to our ears every time, saying “I will kill you”.
Summon: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.
LM: The new band’s lineup now includes: Alex Venders (Drum), Alex Imperiale (Bass) Daniele Cicero (Vocals) and me (Guitars).
Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
LM: Music and lyrics are born from me, but without the work of arrangement of its instrument of all members of the band, the songs would not reach the right feeling.
Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
LM: From personal experience, current events daily, from my hatred towards religions especially Christianity.
Summon: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?
Alex: These things are interesting if studied with mind, but we don’t care so much about “trends” taken from Satanism and Occultism and if we take some quotes or do some references about these things in our lyrics, we do it for a reason, not for trend.
Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?
LM: We have the Ep “Plastination” and in May 2013 we’ll enter the studio for record our first full-length album.
Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?
LM: The songs of “Plastination” are focused on several issues, mostly on fears that affect you on a psychological level, diseases, and never atoned for sins of mankind.
Summon: Do you have any side projects?
Alex: Yes, especially me, I’m a session drummer (studio and live) so I have different bands. Two of my main bands are Devangelic and Lahmia. Alex has Untory, and Daniele has Luktus and LM has Goya.
Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?
LM: Death metal and Extreme Metal in general with some Industrial influences.
Summon: Which current bands?
LM: Cannibal Corpse, Hour Of Penance, Decapitated, Aborted, Six Feet Under and many many more.
Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?
Alex: No, but soon we will! We’re receiving some proposals, and we’re evaluating the bests for us. Soon you will know some news about it!
Summon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
LM: It depends on the venue and the type of event!
Summon: How is the crowd response when you play?
LM: So good, for now we’re so satisfied by the fans reactions.
Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?
Alex: I think that is simply awesome. I mean, it’s normal that things change and evolve year by year, and I’m so happy to know that this will never stop! I love all kind of black and death metal (with preferences, of course), from the old ones, to the new ones and I’m always in search of some new sounds. That’s why I love metal, and that’s why I love music in general!
Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?
Alex: I think almost the same. The European scene is also constantly evolving, and specially the italian scene, from 2 or 3 years, is now blooming up with incredible bands like Fleshgod Apocalypse, Hour Of Penance, Antropofagus, Hideous Divinity, Buffalo Grillz, Destrage, and more and more.
Summon: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?
Alex: Personally I really like latest works of Hour Of Penance, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Nile, Septic Flesh, Devin Townsend and Dying Fetus.
Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?
LM: We are currently finishing pre-productions of our first full-length album, and… I can anticipate to you… It will sound much faster and evil! With this new line-up we found a good feeling and the sound of the album will be more aggressive and brutal than before.
Summon: What does the future hold for the band?
Alex: I cannot reveal so many things, but I can assure you that we’ll have many good news to publish. You have only to wait and keep your eyes on our official page at the following address: https://www.facebook.com/1IWKY
