Blackened Horde: How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?
Band: Hot Stove was formed in 1993, it started out with just getting together at a friends house to drink a few beers and jam anything hateful. We all went to school together and were friends who had the same taste in music.

Blackened Horde: How would you describe your music?
Band: Never too fast and never too slow death metal. Our new material that we are working on is a little faster due mainly to our new drummer Nick Null and additional guitar player Kevin Menssen.

Blackened Horde: What are your biggest musical influences?
Band: Our influences range from hardcore to old punk to death metal.

Blackened Horde: Who if, if any do you consider the bands idols?
Band: I don’t know about the other guys but my favorite without a doubt is Obituary.

Blackened Horde: What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you want to be doing now?
Band: I wanted to play the most extreme music possible. Pimpin’.

Blackened Horde: What are some of your favorite bands that are really popular today?
Band: Internal Bleeding, Cannibal Corpse, Obituary.

Blackened Horde: How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them.
Band: Too many, I try to trade as much as possible.

Blackened Horde: If you could play with any band who would it be and why?
Band: Obituary, anyone who has been to an Obituary show knows why.

Blackened Horde: Who writes the majority of the music?
Band: I used to write all the music but on our next release everyone is contributing.

Blackened Horde: Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with? Why?
Band: Internal Bleeding this is one of the most intense bands to see live and they are also the most personable band to meet bottom line. Internal Bleeding rules and if you don’t have Voracious Contempt you are a rag.

Blackened Horde: Where did you get the band name from?
Band: Everyone wants to know this. I could tell you, but I would have to kill you. It’s a long story.

Blackened Horde: Describe what the band is like live?
Band: Set us up a show and you can see we’ll play for beer.

Blackened Horde: If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?
Band: A group of people doing the hookie pookie.

Blackened Horde: Are there any tour plans made, if so tell me about them?
Band: No touring plans. If I had it my way would play out of town every weekends.

Blackened Horde: Where do you think the band will be in 20 years from now?
Band: Bankrupt. You don’t play this type of music to make money.
