The Divine Promise is the debut album by GODDESS, a solo project by Damjan Stefanovic (MRTVI, Necropalypse, ex-Sarah Jezebel Deva). A melodic, raw black metal project, this album follows the first EP, Raped Into Being, which was released on tape by Medusa Crush Recordings in Canada and digitally by Stefanovic’s own Life As A Dream Records.
The album comprises 8 tracks (32 minutes) covering themes of stewardship, collective responsibility, animal rights, environmental disaster, and the coming supreme retribution ‘The Divine Promise’ of destruction of those who do not respect and care for the earth and it’s inhabitants.
All instruments and vocals were performed by Damjan Stefanovic which he recorded, mixed, mastered at THE HOUSE studio in Serbia between 2019-2020. The cover art is a painting by William-Adolphe Bouguereau titled First Mourning, from 1888. (Another of his paintings was also used for the cover of the RiB EP).
Stefanovic is now seeking labels to release the album on vinyl, cassette tape, and CD, with digital distribution being handled by his own label.
