Summon: How did the band get started?

Moscho: The band was founded in 2008 by me and Pyriflegethon after a short when we first met. We started jamming and after a short while we made our first complete song Then came the rest.

Summon: What kind of music do you play?

Pyriflegethon: We are playing Hellenic Black Metal.

Summon: How has the fan response been?

Moscho: We have a very positive response from the world, both Greece and some foreign countries. We had many great reviews on all our releases by the press and many positive comments by people we have met in person or from the internet.

Summon: Where did the band name come from?

Moscho: It was Pyriflegethon’s idea and it just stayed. It doesn’t mean something special, we just liked the sound of it.

Summon: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.

Pyriflegethon: It’s me that i play the bass and the guitar, it’s Moscho who plays the guitar, its Yngve on the drums and we also have Gareth who is a session member and has assisted us with vocals on the album.

Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?

Pyriflegethon: Music is written by me and Moscho and the lyrics is mostly the work of me and Gareth

Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Moscho: The lyrics mostly speak about epic battles or mysticism and the occult or ancient Greek history and literature.

Summon: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?

Moscho: About Satanism, we think it’s very immature and we don’t care about this things, about the occult, I can say It’s intriguing and interesting subject but we are not some weird deep believers of some weird cult. We like to read and learn stuff.

Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?

Pyriflegethon: We have released one demo tape, one split tape with Lycauges (both tapes on a 300 copies limited edition by War Productions) and now we just released our first full length album. We also have been in a few compilations here in Greece and in Europe.

Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Moscho: All songs are fast tempo warlike black metal with lots of melodies and harmonies, they all have an epic feeling calling you to the battle haha. As I said the lyrics are about battles, mysticism and Greek history which are combined perfectly with our music.

Summon: Do you have any side projects?

Pyriflegethon: Yes i have another project called Vetusmora. It’s totally different from Dizziness because its moving on a more atmospheric/depressive paths. It’s another way of expression for me. Yngve is involved with the bands W.E.B. and Mortuus Suum and Gareth has Diabolical Principles and Mortuus Caelum.

Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Pyriflegethon: I think the basic influence of our sound is what we call ”the hellenic black metal” sound. It is the sound that was introduced by bands like Naer Mataron, Kawir….Varathron. Bands that we admire very much.

Summon: Which current bands?

Pyriflegethon: Naer Mataron, Kawir, Varathron are the top on my mind, those are the basics on our sound.

Summon: What is the band like when you play live?

Moscho: Actually we haven’t felt ready enough yet for a live performance, we had some proposals but we wanna make it a memorable moment both for ourselves and the for the fans, so we are working on that in that moment.

Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?

Pyriflegethon: Every country has good and bad bands (it also depends on each individuals taste). From the U.S. I have heard a lot of good bands and I think is a promising scene.

Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?

Moscho: We don’t like to all bands in the same basket, each serious band wants to create something new with its music if it a serious work we respect it, if you ask that question on each one of us you will take different answers, so it’s hard to say. The fans now are different in each country, I have traveled in some countries to watch bands live and every country feels the music with their own way, something that I think is beautiful and unique.

Summon: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?

Pyriflegethon: Hmmm most of them I can say are Greek because its our inspiration like Naer Mataron, Kawir, Varathron, but we also love Immortal, Mayhem Dimmu Borgir and early Cradle Of Filth, Satyricon, Bolt Thrower, Death and Amon Amarth.

Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?

Moscho: We already have composed three tracks for an upcoming split album and we are on the process of mixing and mastering.

Summon: What does the future hold for the band??

Moscho: More albums and more and more releases and of course start getting on that stage for the people who like our music.
