Summon: How did the band get started?

Dejan: Me and Mattia have different musical experience but we both wanted to create something new. The idea of starting a new band was born quite by chance: Mattia asked me to try to play something together and I was already working on some new stuff. So we tried and seen that we had similar ideas and we decided to carry on!

Summon: What kind of music do you play?

Dejan: Let’s say we play post black metal. But we have so much different influences that we do not want to limit ourselves to a specific genre, although the starting point is surely black metal, We simply play what we feel in that specific moment.

Summon: How has the fan response been?

Dejan: We have released the debut EP in June. So it is still early to say something about that, but we have already had some good reviews and the response from the fans seems to be very good. We are satisfied by the fans critics until now.

Summon: Where did the band name come from?

Dejan: The band name reflects our music. We want to play something undefined, something that can not be held in one specific music genre as I already said. So Dispersion is more than appropriate.

Summon: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.

Dejan: I play the guitar and make the most part of music. Than we have Mattia as a singer and Nicola on drums. The synth parts you can hear are made by me and Mattia, as well as the lyrics.

Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?

Dejan: I write the most part of music, except synth parts that I write together with Mattia. Lyrics are written by me and Mattia.

Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Dejan: The ideas come from our personal experiences. We speak about what we see out in the world, our feelings and our thoughts.

Summon: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?

Dejan: I am not interested in Satanism and Occultism. Dispersion has nothing to do with these two things. You are not going to hear about Satan in our music!

Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?

Dejan: Pillars is our first work. We are already working on some new material, but I do not know when it will be released.

Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Dejan: Lyrics for Memory in land, denied was written by me and for Being the ruin, deep cave by Mattia. The first one comes from my personal experience and talks about the abandonment of some areas and about forgetting our roots. It was the first song we ever composed. The second one is about the emptying and loss of values, that brings a man “to consume and disperse into everything”.

Summon: Do you have any side projects?

Dejan: I play in a black metal band called Exterminas, but it is not my side project. I am 100% in both Exterminas and Dispersion, neither of them is a side project!

Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Dejan: There is more than one music genre I listen to, like black metal, post black, trash, rock and so on. A band that has certainly a huge influence as concerns Dispersion is Altar of Plagues.

Summon: What is the band like when you play live?

Dejan: We have not played live yet.

Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?

Dejan: Not yet.

Summon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?

Dejan: We have not played live yet.

Summon: How is the crowd response when you play?

Dejan: We have not played live yet.

Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?

Dejan: I do not listen a lot of death metal, but there are many great US black metal bands out there. I do not like to talk about a “scene”, you have a lot of bands there and you need to speak about one at a time.

Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?

Dejan: The same I think of the US Scene. I prefer speaking about bands, not scenes.

Summon: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?

Dejan: I do not have a favorite band. There are many of them I love listening to! As concerns Dispersion, some bands that are important for us are Altar of Plagues, Year of no Light and so on.

Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?

Dejan: We are already working on it!

Summon: What does the future hold for the band??

Dejan: That’s a big question! We will surely start to play some live shows and we would like to release a full length album. We will keep doing what we like and we will see!!
