Disorder band

Summon: How did the band get started?

Andrzej “KAT”: Our beginnings were tough. Typical Polish reality. Lack of money, lack of equipment and no place to play – but our will was unshaken. Generally, everyone started in other bands, but, somehow, the fate connected us happily in the end. The first rehearsal took place in a car garage – it was real pleasure. We even played our first gig in a garage, for about 40 people.

Summon: What kind of music do you play?

Andrzej “KAT”: We play death metal. In fact, we add to it some elements of black metal, but it doesn’t affect our music as a whole.

Summon: How has the fan response been?

Andrzej “KAT”: Everything came about without any negative opinions. Our fans began to recognize us and appreciate our work, especially when we already worked out our own definite style. With time we noticed that the world slowly began to pay attention to us.

Summon: Where did the band name come from?

Andrzej “KAT”: Like most of bands we were wondering what name to choose for ours. It wasn’t an easy decision, and we struggled with it for quite a long time. However, the moment came when someone during a rehearsal came up with a proposal of “DISORDER”. That’s how it was. We found that the name would fit us and the music we create.

Summon: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.

Andrzej “KAT”: At the moment, our band has three members. The Drummer is devastating Mariusz Okolita “EYE”, the Guitarist – Patryk Ziora “RAMSES”, the Vocalist and Bass guitarist Andrzej “HEADSMAN”. I must admit that the place of the second guitarist is still vacant, though lately a serious candidate has appeared. I don’t want to jinx, so I won’t blab about it now.

Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?

Andrzej “KAT”: In practice, most of the tracks of Disorder are created by Ramses. Sometimes during rehearsals everyone changes or adds something, but these are sporadic situations. Ramses is practically responsible for the music. I personally write the lyrics.

Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Andrzej “KAT”: We get ideas mostly from the history and ongoing evaluation of all that’s around us. I write about things that annoy me, about things that shouldn’t be in the world and about the man, who tries to manage all this staff.

Summon: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?

Andrzej “KAT”: We believe that it’s best when a person is engaged in his own and his children’s affairs. We should leave other people’s businesses to people who struggle with them, rather than impose anything. As for occultism and scientia occulta, when you look at the achievements of the man in various areas, you may come to very different individual conclusions that are not acceptable by all people.

Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?

Andrzej “KAT”: We recorded two albums. The first in 2006 – called “Confess”. The second is our best album called “Pure Hatred”, recorded in 2014. Both albums are really heavy and technical in their characters; however, we tried not to forget about a good climate.

Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Andrzej “KAT”: Probably our most famous song is “Humiliation”. No wonder,  as the video to this song was recorded in Studio Bass. This song is about the harm that a young person suffers from the hands of…. well, people who will read the lyrics of this song will get to know about it. We can also boast of Doomsday II, the song we recorded in a vocal version and an instrumental version. This, in turn, says about the end of the world which is announced by global disasters occurring recently in the world.

Summon: Do you have any side projects?

Andrzej “KAT”: We don’t have any additional projects – we work only in Disorder.

Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Andrzej “KAT”: Here we can admit we get inspiration from Jazz and classical music – film music. Besides, from a wide range of industrial music.

Summon: Which current bands?

Andrzej “KAT”: I think that here’s just as everyone: Immolation, Morbid Angel, Vital Remains, Nile, Origin, Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Death and others.

Summon: What is the band like when you play live?

Andrzej “KAT”: Playing live music is our thing. We don’t get stressed on the scene and we feel real power.

Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?

Andrzej “KAT”: We have never had a chance to play a  concert abroad, somehow, but it’s only a matter of time and we’ll have our guest performances.

Summon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?

Andrzej “KAT”: It’s up and down – the least were about 30 people – the most people…. about 300.

Summon: How is the crowd response when you play?

Andrzej “KAT”: People watching our shows behave in various ways; some of them get crazy about it and are fully committed to our music, others only watch and experience it in their own way. In general, we feel that people like our performances. People ask nicely when we would play again in their town.

Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?

Andrzej “KAT”: You can write a lot of good on this topic… I’d run out of the sheet …

Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?

Andrzej “KAT”: The scene over the ocean….-it’s our dream.

Summon: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?

Andrzej “KAT”: For me Immolation counts most. Patryk loves Nile. And our drummer listens to Lamb of God.

Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?

Andrzej “KAT”: Here I can admit that we’re working hard in this direction. The new material will come up this year.

Summon: What does the future hold for the band??

Andrzej “KAT”: No one knows …..- but we’ll try to help the fate.
