Desolate Shrine - The Sanctum of Human Darkness

There were things about this CD right of the bat that felt industrial, ambient and dissonant. I immediately wanted to ballpark these guys between Behemoth and Marduk making funeral music. The band shares two vocalists, and perhaps it is the reverb, but it never feels to high and crunchy or to low and guttural. The drums, while not overly prominent or under, have a strong presence in that they feel like they lead the attack as much as support. While I think I like Corridor the best, this is a Cd that really grows on you. There is like a subliminal melody that sort of wears into you and make me want to listen to it again immediately.
