Demonic Cremator -Asphyxiator

Summon: How did the band get started?

Asphyxiator: Well we started around a year ago as an idea; it took some time to gather the right equipment.

Summon: What kind of music do you play?

Asphyxiator & Necrotica: Black Metal!!

Summon: How has the band response been?

Asphyxiator: Things have been great, ’cause we believe in this. If other people like it that’s great, but this is for us.

Necrotica: So far we have received nothing but positive feedback, the myspace page has really taken off.

Summon: Where did the band name come from?

Asphyxiator: All the other cool names were taken, ha ha.

Summon: Introduce the band members

Asphyxiator & Necrotica: Asphyxiator: Vocals, drums. Necrotica: Guitars, bass.

Summon: Who writes the music?  Lyrics?

Necrotica: We both write the music and contribute ideas to each other. All the lyrics are done by Asphyxiator.

Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Asphyxiator: My lyrics are very personal, mainly the madness inside and the strength needed to overcome it. The new album has songs based on the life of Dennis Neilson the serial killer.

Summon: How many albums/cd’s  have you released?

Asphyxiator: Just one album as yet, but are working on the new one as we speak. If you like the first you’ll fuckin’ love this!

Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Asphyxiator: The whole album is raw Black Metal. Songs vary but all are in your face.

Summon: Do you have any side projects?

Necrotica: Nah, just this band for me.

Asphyxiator: Yeah but nothing that compares. I do some tribute things around town.

Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Necrotica: The main ones; Mayhem, Darkthrone, Bathory, Emperor…

Asphyxiator: Maiden, Mayhem.

Summon: Which current bands?

Necrotica: I love Nocturnal Breed, Ravencult, Watain and Tyrant at the moment.

Asphyxiator: Very few, i like Tyrant a lot.

Summon: What is the band like when you play live?

Asphyxiator: We never play live; this band is not about that, at least not yet. In time we’ll see.

Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?

Asphyxiator: Not with this. #

Summon: What is your opinion on death metal bands and black metal bands?   What is your opinion on the conflict of Black Metal Vs Death Metal?

Asphyxiator: Whatever, you know. We have some death metal influences, you can’t avoid that, nor would we want to. But black metal is our thing.

Necrotica: I don’t really care about that stuff. I like a lot of different styles of metal. Limiting yourself to what you can listen to is stupid really.

Summon: What do you think of the US scene?

Necrotica: Yeah, I like it, but the same as everywhere else really, there is good and bad in every country!

Asphyxiator: It’s cool I think, there is some good stuff. Try Killgasm, that’s some insane stuff.

Summon: What do you think of the overseas scene?

Asphyxiator: I don’t pay much attention, just through Myspace. There seems to be a lot of good bands in some bizarre places, which is good. And a lot of shit as well.

Necrotica: I agree there are some great bands out there and we’re always discovering more from all over the place.

Summon: Any plans on writing any new material?

Asphyxiator: Sure, all the time. We never really stop; it’s just picking the best that is the problem.

Necrotica: There are a lot of ideas floating around at the moment. We still have a lot of material from the first album which hasn’t been used yet either.

Summon: What does the future hold for the band??

Necrotica: Lots of work to be done! We’re constantly progressing and working on improving things. We’re just trying to take this as far as we can with the resources that we have.

Asphyxiator: More albums, better songs, just to continue to write and improve ourselves.
