Blackened Horde: How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?
Von: The band started in ’92, we all went to school together- Drew, Ethan and Danny started they went through 3 other guitarist till I joined.
Blackened Horde: How would you describe your music?
Von: Sick Technical but still groove filled gore spew death.
Blackened Horde: What are your biggest musical influences?
Von: There are too many. We all listen to just about everything. So I cant give you an accurate list. But for me Old Metallica, Coroner, Sodom, Napalm Death, Sacred Reich, Cynic, Deicide, Twisted Sister, Dream Theater, Alice In Chains, Tool, Slayer, Sting, lots of different shit.
Blackened Horde: Who if, if any do you consider the bands idols?
Von: Awww shit I don’t know.
Blackened Horde: What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you want to be doing now?
Von: I’ve been in bands since I was 12 or 13 it’s what I’ve always wanted to do. I don’t know what I’d be doing without it.
Blackened Horde: What are some of your favorite bands that are really popular today?
Von: Underground wise I like Lividity, Fleshgrind, Corpsevomit, Num Skull, Dying Fetus, Cryptopsy, Heimdale, Scattered Remnants- lots of bands.
Blackened Horde: How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them.
Von: Right now we just have Feast on the Flesh of the Dead out ’96 6 song tape it’s available $5.00 US $6.00 rest and our CD will be out in July or so 9 new songs called “Hymns of the Sick”.
Blackened Horde: If you could play with any band who would it be and why?
Von: Deaden. I’m totally content with it. I want to do my music not someone else’s.
Blackened Horde: Who writes the majority of the music?
Von: Actually I do most of the lyrics and a lot of the guitar writing.
Blackened Horde: Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with? Why?
Von: That’s hard Nile, Dying Fetus Sarcophagusususus (RIP) Lividity, Corpsevomit, Fleshgrind, Repudilation all those guys are great, everyone we play with rule.
Blackened Horde: Where did you get the band name from?
Von: The other guys got it from the Dictionary or some shit.
Blackened Horde: Describe what the band is like live?
Von: We try to be ourselves no smoke, make-up or other shit. Just put out our energy and the crowd usually does the same.
Blackened Horde: If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?
Von: Women in cages, hahnium!!
Blackened Horde: Are there any tour plans made, if so tell me about them?
Von: We are trying to set up a little tour in August of basically the best side of US not a lot of info right now.
Blackened Horde: Where do you think the band will be in 20 years from now?
Von: Dead and Rotting.
