Blackened Horde: How did the band get started? How did you meet and how long have you been together?
Alexandre: Darken was formed in 94′. We met in 94′.
Blackened Horde: How would you describe your music?
Alexandre: We do our music our music with our feelings and our experience in the life (with films, books, other music styles, girls…). It’s too difficult to describe our music, that we feel, in one or two words.
Blackened Horde: What are your biggest musical influences?
Alexandre: I think our biggest musical influence are Death-Metal (doom) and Electro- techno.
Blackened Horde: Who if, if any do you consider the bands idols?
Alexandre: Morbid Angel and Slayer.
Blackened Horde: What made you want to be in the band? And if you weren’t in the band what would you want to be doing now?
Alexandre: Darken.
Blackened Horde: What are some of your favorite bands that are really popular today?
Alexandre: In Europe, Cradle of Filth is really popular today. I like a lot Morbid Angel “The Only Gods in this World”. Slayer, Samael, Fear Factory, My Dying Bride, Blut Aus Nord, Theatre of Tragedy, Elend, Dead Can Dance, Wumpscut, Front Line Assembly…
Blackened Horde: How many demos/albums do you have? Tell me about them.
Alexandre: I have near 60 demos of heavy, thrash, death, black, doom, dark, gothic and experimental music… And near 250 albums a lot of Death Metal, Electro-techno and Gothic.
Blackened Horde: If you could play with any band who would it be and why?
Alexandre: I don’t know. Concerts are good with and without populars bands, I think. But play with Samael, My Dying Bride, Theater of Tragedy, Suppuration could be cool, because we know them personally.
Blackened Horde: Who writes the majority of the music?
Alexandre: Darken writes all the music.
Blackened Horde: Who has been the favorite band you’ve played with? Why?
Alexandre: Darken stood six times on stage. I think your shapeless beauty, Anorexia, Nervosa, Embers, Gorgon, Mind snare are the bands with we have a good relationship.
Blackened Horde: Where did you get the band name from?
Alexandre: Dave, our guitarist found the band name: Darken.
Blackened Horde: Describe what the band is like live?
Alexandre: Live is great. Power sounds and good lights shows is the important things for a good concert.
Blackened Horde: If you are gonna do any kind of video what would be in it?
Alexandre: Queer, cold, crash and Darken.
Blackened Horde: Are there any tour plans made, if so tell me about them?
Alexandre: Perhaps French, Italian and Belgium tour.
Blackened Horde: Where do you think the band will be in 20 years from now?
Alexandre: I don’t know. People change a lot attitude. All changes, we’ll see… Now, we play our music and we like this. It’s the more important.
