Summon: How did the band get started?
Saman: It was about 4 years ago when Amirhossein and I met in the university and decided to start a band and since 2011 Keyvan joined us as the drummer and we recorded the first single.
Summon: What kind of music do you play?
Amirhossein: In the beginning we covered some thrash stuff but after a while we changed to Death with a tinge of Melodic Death.
Summon: How has the fan response been?
Saman: One of our songs named “Black Rider” is on the band’s Myspace and Facebook pages and fans can listen to it, and fortunately we received positive feedbacks from the listeners and they are waiting for the album. Also some of the great musicians from around the world have heard the “Black Rider” which has quite amazed us.
Summon: Where did the band name come from?
Amirhossein: First Saman suggested this name to me and I thought it would be relevant because of the goal that the band pursues and the ideas that it tries to communicate, which are related to social problems and mental conflicts.
Summon: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.
Amirhossein: Guitars
Saman; Bass & Guitars
Ali: Vocals
Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Amirhossein: Saman and I write the music and my brother writes the lyrics considering the ideas and the meaning behind each song.
Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Saman: In fact this is a conceptual album, and the story is about the tensions and the concerns in the society and mental conflicts.
Summon: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?
Saman: It’s bullshit!
Amirhossein: I hate everything that tells me how to think!
Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?
Saman: We released a single track “Gerdab” with Persian lyrics in 2011 and our first album with English lyrics will be release in the spring of 2013 by Turkey Vulture Records .
Summon: Tell me about some of the songs on the latest CD?
Amirhossein: In this album we tried to pay attention to technique, speed, and the madness of the music as well as the exciting and the headbanging side of the music. We don’t like to be a boring band and along the ideas and thoughts of the band we want to kick the headbangers ass.
Summon: Do you have any side projects?
Saman: No we don’t. This is the only band we play in and after the album is released we will start working on the next album.
Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?
Saman: All the music we have heard and all the people we have met all through our musical career can be influential in our work.
Summon: Which current bands?
Amirhossein: Well I think 90’s death metal bands such as Cannibal Corpse or Hate Eternal or Vital Remains, etc.
Summon: What is the band like when you play live?
Saman: Since we can’t perform in our own country we will try to perform in foreign countries.
Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?
Saman: We will try to do so as soon as possible.
Summon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
Amirhossein: Because of the situation in our country we never did a show that could be satisfying for us. So we are looking forward to appear in an acceptable show outside this country.
Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?
Amirhossein: I think most of our attention in metal has always been focused on American death metal bands specially the ones from Florida, and they are the most influential bands in our music. I don’t listen to black stuff very much, so I know few black bands that are very cool.
Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?
Amirhossein: For a band like Cursed Kingdom that can’t have the local performances, the overseas scenes can be the best option to connect to the fans around the world. I believe that metal is maybe the only thing in this world that does not have any boundaries and it can be produced from anywhere around the world and be also heard.
Summon: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?
Saman: Beyond Creation, Beneath the Massacre, and …
Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?
Saman: Our first album “THE WASTELAND” will be released by Turkey Vulture Records/Bungalo Records/Universal Music Group Distribution and hit the stores everywhere in the Spring of 2013. We are also working on some new stuff for our second album.
Summon: What does the future hold for the band??
Saman: We are planning for the future, and of course after the album release we can hopefully perform in the festivals around the world and I think we can achieve the place that we deserve considering the good feedbacks that we have received from our fans.
Amirhossein: I think we are a band that is ready for doing its best and we are ready to appear as hard and as good as we can. I believe the most important thing in metal is doing your best with all your power.
