Summon: How did the band get started?
Floyd: A group of guys looking to play music that not very many people were making.
Summon: What kind of music do you play?
Floyd: Thrash metal with stoner/doom metal influences and actual melodies.
Summon: How has the band response been?
Floyd: From those who actually have heard us, very good.
Summon: Where did the band name come from?
Floyd: It was in a book I was reading and I thought it covered everything we were doing. It sounds heavy, has a no retreat no surrender feel to it and works with all the mythology stuff we write about.
Summon: Introduce the band members and tell me what each members does?
Floyd: Charles – Guitar, Stevie – Vocals, Brandon – Drums, Floyd – Bass & Backing Vocals.
Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Floyd: Charles writes the music mostly, I write complimentary parts and arrange the parts Charles writes. Stevie takes the ideas and writes a story to it and Brandon finishes the mood with the drums.
Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Floyd: Mostly mythology.
Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?
Floyd: LP and CD coming soon.
Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?
Floyd: Release the Kraken is the single from the album, it’s short and fast.
Summon: Do you have any side projects?
Floyd: People have various projects.
Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?
Floyd: Old Metallica, Megadeth, Black Sabbath, Sepultura.
Summon: Which current bands?
Floyd: Mastodon, High on Fire, Baroness, Kylesa.
Summon: What is the band like when you play live?
Floyd: I think stoner thrash says it all.
Summon: Do you have any type of stage props or special clothing?
Floyd: Fuck no!
Summon: What was the best band you played with?
Floyd: Opeth, High on Fire, Baroness show was pretty sick.
Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?
Floyd: No.
Summon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
Floyd: Depends on who we play with.
Summon: How is the crowd response when you play?
Floyd: Positive.
Summon: What do you think of the US Metal scene?
Floyd: Some good bands are finally getting some recognition.
Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?
Floyd: I hear good things.
Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?
Floyd: I’ve got some good ideas, now I just have to make some time to flesh it out.
Summon: What does the future hold for the band??
Floyd: There is some interest on putting out some of our music, hopefully people will like what they hear.
