Summon: How did the band get started?

Cristian: The band started in 1997 and was found by me. In the beginning our sound was a mix of many kind of music, but after the first 2 years, we started to play our horror music.

 

 

Summon: How has the band response been?

Cristian: I think the band had a great response from a lot of people, and so many magazines wrote than we were an heirs of bands like Death SS and Mercyful Fate.

 

 

Summon: In Your words describe the type of music you play.

Cristian: At the moment I can say…thrash/horror or only….horror metal.

 

 

Summon: Where did the band name come from?

Cristian: The name come from a song of my favorite band: Megadeth…this song is Black Friday!

 

 

Summon: Introduce the band members.

Cristian: Ok! At the moment we have only 2 components in the band: me, Cristian Mustaine (guitars, screams and vocals) and Jack the Ripper (bass).We are working with a new drummer now, but for this moment he isn’t an official member of the band.

 

 

Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?

Cristian: I write all the music and the lyrics, because this band started like my personal project.

 

 

Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Cristian: My lyric ideas come from the things that inspire me, like horror movies, magic and the pain and sufferings of the life.

Cristian: We released so many demos, albums, video and LP; the discography:

Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Cristian: We are waiting for the press of the new album. It will be out this month. The title is “Occultum Lapidem” and it is more thrash than the others but always in a horror style. The songs talk about my thought about magic and spiritual life.

 

 

Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?

Cristian: Our musical influences are bay-area thrash metal bands, like Megadeth, Testament and Annihilator, horror bands like Death SS and Mercyful Fate, doom metal bands like Candlemass and Pentagram and old bands like Black Sabbath and Black Widow.

 

 

Summon: Which current bands?

Cristian: Always Megadeth and bay area thrash bands and Candlemass.

 

 

Summon: Do you guys play live?

Cristian: Yes, we have the next gig in Denmark at Metal Magic Festival on 5th of June.

 

 

Summon: What is the band like when you play live?

Cristian: When we play live we play with very power and aggressiveness and we use our horror face painting and style to entertain the people and enjoy with us the concert.

 

 

Summon: What was the best band you played with?

Cristian: We played with Death SS, Dismember and Thunderstorm and in June we will play with Artillery and Pagan Altar!

 

 

Summon: Have you guys ever played out of your country?

Cristian: Yes! We played in Germany in 2006 at Bonded by Blood Festival and this year we will play in Denmark at Metal Magic Festival.

 

 

Summon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?

Cristian: This depends to the place. In Italy you can have 20/30 people in a small place and 1000 in a big place. In the other countries of Europe there are more people. In June we think we will have 1000 people in Denmark.

 

 

Summon: How is the crowd response when you play?

Cristian: It’s very good! All our fans really believe in us and this is very important. When we play live we feel their passion for our music!

 

 

Summon: What do you think of the US scene?

Cristian: I like it, and some of my favorite bands are from this scene, like Megadeth! I hope to play in your country one day!

 

 

Summon: What do you think of the overseas scenes?

Cristian: If you want to say the European scene, I think that it is good, but I don’t like so many new bands. Only business!!

 

 

Summon: What are your plans on writing any new material?

Cristian: I write always, in every moment! but now we are waiting for the press of the new release. Then we will think about the promotion of this album.

 

 

Summon: What does the future hold for the band??

Cristian: We will play live in summer and then we will write a new song for another album. We hope to let more people listen our music and we hope to have always our fans near of us!
