Antipathic

Blackened Horde: How did the band get started?

Chris: I approached Tato in 2017 about a side studio project that I was working on, and asked if he was interested in playing together remotely. I’ve known Tato for many years, but had never played with him in any previous bands.

Blackened Horde: What kind of music do you play?

Chris: It’s a combination of modern death metal, with some slam elements, samples, and a few experimental sounds mixed in.

Blackened Horde: How has the fan response been?

Chris: It has been awesome so far!

Blackened Horde: Where did the band name come from?

Chris: “Antipathic” fits with the running theme of the band, which is centered around the technological apocalypse. Artificial intelligence taking over and destroying the human race.

Blackened Horde: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.

Chris: Tato does all of the vocals and bass. I play guitar, do the drum sequencing, and create samples/ weird noises.

Blackened Horde: Who writes the music? Lyrics?

Chris: I usually write the first draft or rough idea of the music and lyrics, and then Tato and I will bounce ideas back and forth many times making changes until we are happy with the finished song.

Blackened Horde: And where do the lyric ideas come from?

Chris: The future. Haha.

Blackened Horde: How many albums/CD’s have you released?

Chris: Only one other album besides the new full length- last year we released a 3 song EP/ limited edition digipack titled “Autonomous Mechanical Extermination”.

Blackened Horde: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?

Chris: The first song we that released from Humanimals was “Digital Damnation”, which is basically about how humans might become something of a hybrid symbiotic with technology, but still displaying human flaws like prejudice, and a never ending search for more power. The second song we released was “Integers”, which is about the machines reducing the number of humans, or the population systematically.

Blackened Horde: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?

Tato: Well, Satanism is a religion, and religions are often comfortable holds, although some, like Satanism, are very intriguing and full of interpretations; the occult is something more vast, it concerns the whole of obscure knowledge and destined, or suitable, a few people, so it is much more interesting than a religion that imposes you and submits you to the adoration of a higher entity.

Blackened Horde: Do you have any side projects?

Tato: Chris is the guitarist of Human Repugnance, a brutal death band that is currently in pause, but I personally hope to come up with something new, because they were really strong! And I play in another death metal band called Glacial Fear and another brutal death metal called Zora, plus other projects, some of which are currently on standby, and others are leaving.

Blackened Horde: Who are some of your musical influences?

Tato: Our musical influences are very similar, several times we pass listens and advice, as well as opinions and opinions on records and bands, and we are absolutely in line. If I have to mention names I can not fail to mention the Cannibal Corpse, which I personally find to be the top, but next to them I could name another 100, forgetting always some…

Blackened Horde: What is the band like when you play live?

Tato: This band can not play live, I live in Italy and Chris in the United States, it’s a distance project, but who knows if one day something does not happen…

Blackened Horde: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?

Tato: I like very much Dark Funeral, Brisen, Burzum, Gorgoroth, Absu, Bathory, Dissection, and others… I do not like to make lists of bands, because then I punctually remember some that I have not mentioned!

Blackened Horde: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?

Tato: Yes, we have already planned a next job, probably an EP, a very special thing… in the past we have put online a cover of Obituary, Don’ t Care, re-titled by us in IDGAF, and the work we have planned is almost on that trail.

Blackened Horde: What does the future hold for the band??

Chris: More death! We actually already have the next EP planned out with artwork ready, but nothing is recorded as of yet. Most likely that will release next year some time.
