ANTEDEUM was born in June 1993 from the reunion of two musicians who had already operated separately in various projects. A first ‘official’ Demo (after the edition of a Rehearsal in 1994) was born in the winter of 1996/1997: “De Magia Naturalis”. It was musically influenced by the Doom scene of the 90s: CELESTIAL SEASON, MY DYING BRIDE, THE GATHERING, NIGHTFALL, CHORUS OF RUIN, etc. Several rather unstable years followed during which the project adopted various changes of line up and other musical orientations, until the summer of 2003 and at the end of a series of demos / concerts having enamelled the years 2000 to 2002, the band became dormant. Only Franck (co-founder of the project, former drummer, main lyricist and current singer) decided, 18 years later, to resuscitate him in order to allow him to exploit his potential by returning to the latter’s musical roots. The chance of the meetings brought him into contact with two exceptional musicians, Deni MARINOVIC (guitars and basses) and Ethan DUCROCQ (drums). It is thus possible to envisage for ANTEDEUM a musically fruitful future. History will decide…
