Summon: How did the band get started?
Rob: We started jamming together in August of 2013, But the other guys had been playing since 2011. I had known Evan (guitar) forever and we had been in a punk band together before starting this band.
Summon: What kind of music do you play?
Rob: The “easy” answer is METAL. But I suppose we’re more on the death metal side of the spectrum with a little more emphasis on rhythm. A good mix of old and new.
Summon: How has the fan response been?
Rob: Very good…Thing are moving along quickly.
Summon: Where did the band name come from?
Rob: Adrenochrome is an oxidation product of adrenaline that can trigger psychotic reactions and might play a role in schizophrenia..kind of like our music.
Summon: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.
Evan Barone: Guitar
Josh Watkins: Voice
Tayte Leigh: Guitar
Rob Cinami: Drums
Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Rob: Josh writes all the lyrics. He’s an angry poet and dreadful things emerge from his pen.
Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Rob: Social unrest, the trappings of consumerism, evils of humanity, anarchy in all is forms..you know, all the fun happy topics hahahaa.
Summon: What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?
Rob: I’ve poisoned myself against this type of thinking, the flock mentality. If the concept of SATAN is thought to bring death into the world, then what the Hell are the followers of the One GOD doing? They certainly seem to be having all the fun! No black candles, No bullshit spells or mystical nonsense. No red steroid using demon with a tail and pitchfork, No Witchcraft or Pagans dancing naked around a fire. Just a new conservative mindset, Emphasizing stability and continuity, Individual freedom and the need for mobility and achievement. Values that are being destroyed by the Collective. This is as much my philosophy as it is reflected in my attitude, A constant force, A function in the development of a free mind…. Corresponding with the requirements of human nature. Nature’s highest Law; Without Evil there is no progress. It’s too bad I don’t believe in a “SATAN”. I am also not a fan of 99% of the so-called Satanists out there. Although I do dig the self empowering angle of it. The concept of the One God, I believe, Is not about Heaven or Blind Faith. It’s about power and the acquisition of land, Created by humans to control lesser humans (a.k.a. the weak, poor, meek and stupid). Humans also had to create a super villain, A Lex Luthor for their Superman. The Adversary… SATAN! I’m a big fan of the musings of LaVey but wash my hands now of the “Satanism” tag.
Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?
Rob: We put out our first EP in 2013 entitled “A New World Slaughter”. We are currently in the process of booking studio time for our full length “Rabble Rouser”, that will be out by early 2015.
Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?
Rob: The title track is first ‘New World Slaughter’, which is very mosh-y in a S.O.D meets Candiria kind of way followed by some grindcore ending somewhere between Morbid Angel and Behemoth. ‘Consumed/Destroyed’ is very angry and has a anthem vibe to it with hits of Meshuggah.’Bleed The Myth’ is just 100% brutal death metal. Quick blast beats, weird riffs and heavy as fuck!’Satan Speaks’ is dark a trippy.
Summon: Do you have any side projects?
Rob: Not at all. One band. One Focus.
Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?
Rob: As a band, we have a lot of influences. Older bands like Slayer, Morbid Angel, Candiria, Cynic & Napalm Death…to newer stuff like The Acacia Strain, Suicide Silence and Aborted.
Summon: Which current bands?
Rob: Evan and Tayte have really been digging Ingested from the UK. Josh has been ear-fucking the last Pyrexia album. And out of the newer bands I’m a big fan of Wormrot, Skeletonwitch and Intervals.
Summon: What is the band like when you play live?
Rob: Intense and with a lot of attitude. “Full of piss and vinegar” as they say.
Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?
Rob: Not yet but looking forward to it. Some of us may not be able to get passports, hahahahhaa.
Summon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
Rob: Well, we’ve recently scored some good opening slots on our past few shows opening for bands like Eyehategod, Suffocation and Swashbuckle..so the crowds have been amazing!
Summon: How is the crowd response when you play?
Rob: We hear “Holy Shit!” and “Godamn!”(s) from the people on the floor, so I think we’re doing o.k.
Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?
Rob: Where we’re from (Rhode Island) there are some really good Death/Black Metal bands such as Churchburn, Venomizer, Sangus, Bog Of The Infidel, Headrot, Gravesideservice, Witchking, Rhode Kill, DeadGirlsDontSayNo and Vital Remains!
Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?
Rob: I love all the big Rock and Metal festivals they have overseas, we don’t get too see some of those great line-ups.
Summon: What are some of new favorite black metal/death metal bands?
Rob: Visceral Disgorge, Infant Annihilator, Fallujah, Uneven Structure…that’s all I can think of off the top of my head.
Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?
Rob: We have a full length ready to be recorded and we’ve already starting working on new material for the next one. We’re staying busy.
Summon: What does the future hold for the band??
Rob: To crush our enemies, to see them driven before us, and to hear the lamentations of their women.
