Summon: How did the band get started?
Patric: The band formed by me and my brother Johan in 2010 when we both finally moved to the same area and could start playing together.
Johan: Before we moved to the same city we were still making songs but it was so much harder. Usually Patric send me some riffs, I tried to record drums on my electrical drum-kit and send them back. Needless to say, the ball started rolling much faster moving to the same city being able to play and write music together.
Summon: What kind of music do you play?
Patric: We play a form of Metal that is influenced by traditional Metal, Black metal, Death metal, and pretty much all kind of genres/bands with a lot of soul to it.
Johan: Our style in music is very limitless and free, we add the musical parts we enjoy playing and like listening to.
Summon: How has the fan response been?
Patric: The fan response has been very good, people seem to enjoy it.
Johan: People are writing to us from all over the world, didn’t expect that at all considering we have barely been marketing the album at all.
Summon: Where does the band name come from?
Patric: The band name is made up by us and has no other meaning than this band.
Summon: Introduce the band members and what they do in the band.
Patric Kreutzberg – Guitar and vocals.
Johan Burman – Drummer.
Ejner Trenter – Bassplayer.
Jarl Herlitz – Session guitar.
Summon: Who writes the music? Lyrics?
Patric: I write all the music and lyrics and then Johan and I arranges the songs together.
Summon: And where do the lyric ideas come from?
Patric: Our lyrics stands for the elements we salute the highest. To defeat mankind’s hierarchy over nature, to free our spirit and soul.
Summon: What is your view on Satanism and Occultism?
Patric: Satanism to me is about breaking free from your chains which you are born with and strive for your own liberation. To realize the lies of mankind’s cosmos and destroy it within yourself.
Summon: How many albums/CD’s have you released?
Patric: We’ve just released our first album called “Return”. Prior to that we’ve also made two demo’s in the past.
Summon: Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?
Patric: The songs on “Return” is like a journey, atmospheric, violent, yet beautiful. They take you from one place to another.
Summon: Do you have any side projects?
Johan: At the moment our old bass-player and I are working on a doom project. I like playing different genres and want to do it to evolve my skills as a drummer and musician.
Summon: Who are some of your musical influences?
Johan: Band’s who stay creative and artistic and doesn’t repeat their records year after year but strive for development. I find band’s like Dissection and Opeth as good examples of bands walking their own path not bending for other opinions but their own.
Summon: Which current bands?
Johan: Watain and many other bands not necessarily Black/Death which deliver music true to themselves. You can instantly spot a band playing live if they can stand for their music or not.
Patric: I really enjoy The Devil’s Blood, even though Selim is dead I consider them as current and a big influence.
Summon: What is the band like when you play live?
Patric: The band is full of energy and we all now what we are supposed to do.
Summon: Have you guys ever played in another country?
Patric: In May this year we were invited to play Dark Mental Festival in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was a night to remember!
Summon: How big of crowd shows up at shows usually?
Johan: It’s been quite a roller-coaster on that. We went from headlining one of Europe’s biggest skateboard competitions, where we played a big venue for about 300-400 people. The next week we played at another local spot and there was like 20 people there, a bit of a contrast.
Summon: How is the crowd response when you play?
Patric: Mainly very good, people seems to be enjoying it.
Summon: What do you think of the US Black Metal/Death Metal scene?
Patric: I only know a few bands, but I can’t say that I am familiar with the US scene.
Johan: Not to familiar with that unfortunately but I’m listening a lot to a band from Brooklyn on the rise called Mortals, their debut album is really good.
Summon: What do you think of the Overseas scenes?
Patric: What I have noticed is that India’s Metal scene has expanded a lot the latest years, which I find great.
Johan: Would definitely like to explore that part much more. They say South America is insane and also United States.
Summon: What are some of your new favorite black metal/death metal bands?
Johan: Mortals as mentioned above but also Watain, even after 15 years in the making they still evolve and make fantastic music.
Summon: When do you guys plan on writing any new material?
Patric: Johan and I have already started working on the upcoming album, writing and jamming. That’s who we are, it never stops.
Summon: What does the future hold for the band??
Johan: To complete the physical version of “Return” which will be released on CD within some time.
And also playing a lot of shows in the autumn, promoting ourselves and the album.
